History

The mill in Bohlsen is one of the oldest Lower Saxony. The history of the mill goes back to the 13th century.

  • 1265:

    First time mentioned by documents

  • 1952:

    Founding of the Bohlsen mill  company by Helmut Krause, the father of Volker Krause todays owner

     

     

  • 1979:

    Volker Krause takes charge of the family company; change to 100% processing of grain from organic farming

     

     

  • 1983:

    First small fresh bakery 

  • 1989:

    Construction of the present fresh bakery 

  • 1995:

    Construction of the first warehouse

    Extension of the administration-building 

  • 2004:

    Tape-cutting ceremony of the third facility

    - Industrial oven for baked goods and crunchy cereals 

    - Modern packing plant 

  • 2007:

    Extension of the second facility

    - further technical possibilites for new baked goods

  • 2011:

    expansion of the production plant and warehouse to a total of 11000 m²

  • 2012:

     - Mill: New silo

    -  Plant to produce pellets for heating from the hulls of spelt
